Ranveer Singh’s Old ‘Kar Lo Thodi Zyada Shooting’ Remark Resurfaces Amid Deepika Padukone’s 8-Hour Work Shift Row

Amid ongoing debates in Bollywood about working hours on film sets, an old video of Ranveer Singh discussing long shooting schedules has gone viral. The clip, originally from a 2022 conversation with Bollywood Hungama, resurfaced recently as his film Dhurandhar enjoys major box-office success. In it, Ranveer talks candidly about shooting beyond the typical eight-hour day, saying that when the desired work can’t be completed within eight hours, people should “just shoot a bit more.”

At the time, he acknowledged that fellow artists and their teams often joke he “ruins everyone” by sometimes working 10–12-hour shifts, which then sets an expectation for others on set. Still, he emphasised that his approach isn’t transactional; if more time is needed to get the job done well, he doesn’t mind putting in the extra hours.

The resurfacing of this video comes amid a controversy sparked by his wife, Deepika Padukone, who has recently been in the news for advocating eight-hour work shifts, especially after becoming a mother. Reports say she walked away from high-profile projects like Spirit and the Kalki 2898 AD sequel when producers could not accommodate this request.

Deepika has publicly questioned how overworking and extremely long days have been normalised in Bollywood, stressing that eight hours is sufficient for most people to be productive while still respecting their health and well-being.

At the same time, Dhurandhar director Aditya Dhar has highlighted that his cast and crew worked demanding 16–18-hour days during production, and reportedly no one complained about the workload.
